I think they're setup like mine but not sure. In mine the suction fan is inside the tent it blows through the vent duct and ends blowing into a carbon filter. Not "inline" but at the end of the line.

Could you share a picture mate?

So your exhausting into the room outside the tent? not to the outside elements as it were?

@Minty some people have their extraction fan inside the tent blowing air out of the tent through the carbon filter, which is located outside of the tent. Some also have the extraction fan and carbon filter outside of the tent with ducting running back into the tent.

Ah OK mate, thank you for that, I seen people with the carbon filter just sitting in the room outside the tent etc, but didn't realise they are that good at removing the smell etc. Makes me (not regret my roof extraction tiles) think of other means of recirculating the air in my environment.

Kinda makes sense but I think extracting outta the roof tile is better no? In terms of heat extraction alone (I suffer from really high temps)?

Yours is perfect Minty. If you can exhaust your extraction fan outside of your house that’s what you want to do. I’ve seen people exhausting into their walls or up into their roof by cutting a hole. I’m not sure about this because I’ve never done it or anything, but I’ve heard some say that could cause mold in your walls and whatnot. Shooting out a window or the way you’re doing it is golden man.

@Minty my fan and filter are outside the tent so I blow through the filter at the end of the pipe as opposed to sucking through the filter in the tent, I just have the open end of the pipe in the tent, it exhausts into the room currently but this is just a temporary set up, will look to make something better when I move the tent into another room after this grow. I plan to put the pipe up through the ceiling and then into a made box in the loft as the loft is very well ventilated , or ideally through a tile vent, my only concern with a tile vent is the first thing you will know about your filter no longer working is the neighbourhood stinks , how do guys who vent straight out prevent this do you just change filter periodically as a prevention measure or wait for the smell?

Changing filters sooner rather than later and just always checking. Using good filters that are big enough. I’m interested to see if anyone has any secret tricks.
