Hey rik, you have vitalink buddy in your list but that’s not strictly a pk booster, vitalink do a pk though.
Buddy is basically a watered down pk for use alongside nitrogen based ferts, for example with canna you get a+b for veg and a different one for flower so that takes care of the npk balance.
With vitalink you use the same a+b from start to finish but you also use buddy in flower along side the a+b, all the way through except for the one week you stop using it and use pk, then back to buddy again
Have a look on this feed chart and you’ll see what I mean

Or perhaps you knew that and that’s what you wanted to know, in which case I vote buddy

Canna pk for the week of peak flowering, even now I’m using the whole vitalink range except for the pk I’m using canna, only cos it’s left over, when it runs out I’ll be trying the vitalink stuff, cos you only use it for a week it lasts forever lol

What’s does Athena or Veg + Bloom Shine ??
The shine one. ✨️
Yes it’s more expensive for the bottle as that’s £38 compared to £18 but it’s actually cheaper to use.

Shine
£38 / 450g tub = 8p per gram, they want you to use 2g per gal so 8x2=16/4=4

So per litre it cost 4p

Athena pk
£18/946ml= 2p per ml

Depending on your week it can cost up to 6p a litre

Plus you have to deal with evaporation and silage

This is my opinion tho
Good for a long term basis though. I wandered if the doses were different.

Hence athe name, Buddy. Yeah that makes sense.

Maybe worth using alongside then or on every other watering?

@DIY.Rik here there feed chart

And here someone else’s feeding chart

Seem that max you’d use is 2g. Reason went for this is sick of liquids and was running out of Athena pk and came across them and before moving to Athena pro line thought try powders.

Is a cheap long term option.

I wouldn't completely count it out.

I only ever seen one other company sell in powder and they had a good reputation.

Thanks everyone for their input so far.

Hopefully this may help some new growers who come across it too.

.....mind you, when I'm in coco I will be a new grower lol.....

I’d say it depends on what base nutes you go with, if your using canna for example you shouldn’t need the buddy because the flowering nutes have added pk, if your using vitalink nutes then you will NEED buddy, not 100% but I think the shogun nutes work the same way as vitalink.
Imo this is why it’s important to pick a brand and go with them, try not to mix and match unless you know what your doing. Of course you could study the feed charts of different brands and figure out what is getting used and when, then check the ingredients and make sure it’s suitable for your needs.
if you was using canna Flores and started putting buddy in all the way through flowering you’d run the risk of overfeeding, unless of course you have a strain that eats extra hard and you need the added pk then maybe but chances are you could just up the strength of a+b instead.
Really the poll should be asking what range of nutes should I try next
Just my thoughts anyway, I know people mix and match different brands and get great results but I like to minimise my risks

I use Green Sensation from Plagron.

It's some kind of Hairy Plopper wizard magick.

I've tried others, but I like this the best for stuff grown in mud.

I;ll be using a squirt of Buddy in this coco run I'm doing.

If your gonna be using Canna A&B for coco theirs really no need for buddy imo cus npk value in Canna is pretty high to start with. Ive not looked at npk values of other ferts for years cus i try stick with Canna now, but yes my memory if its cooking on gas says that to me. That said NPK of all A&B is similar but for some reason my brain says Canna`s is higher value compared to lots of other brands. That said using Buddy the way you saying shouldn`t be problem at all, you may notice odd leaf crisping up in shaded parts under canopy quicker than they usually do if your not using pk boosts.
