Re: Heated waistcoat
I asked customer service and they had to ask the manufacture and want an email so there's that route to find out. Most power banks I've seen charge with either another usb which could be run off a laptop or pc, and most have had a usb to plug in the wall adapter. But don't know what is available over your way.
Anyone that has time for drama is not gardening enough.

Re: Heated waistcoat
If you're going to buy one then avoid the ones on amazon sold by Chinese sellers. Amazon don't really regulate these things. Especially if you're going to put a power bank in them. Go for a known/trusted brand, at least you know they've been fully tested. Or just get a decent insulated jacket.
I've got a decent jacket, even when its below freezing, ive only got a t shirt on underneath and it still keeps me cosy! Yes I've got the rest of my clothes on too...not just a t-shirt. That could get interesting, especially in freezing temps.
My 2p worth.

Re: Heated waistcoat
I can't see her wearing that in bed, mate. She is already layered up with clothing. Once she gets cold, it takes forever for her to feel warm again. Something like a waistcoat is small and light enough for her to still feel mobile in bed and to keep her warm.Trex wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 10:17 pma heated coat , do youself a favour and get a Carhartt work/casual coat , nice and warm as fuck .

Re: Heated waistcoat
I think you'll find they are all Asian made.wutang wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 10:21 pmIf you're going to buy one then avoid the ones on amazon sold by Chinese sellers. One site (I think it was on ebay) that said they are Asian sizes and to go for a larger one than you think you'd need. The thing is, I've seen the same thing (except mentioning that they are Asian sizes) on famous brands / sites.

Re: Heated waistcoat
I did, and the reply that gave was nowhere close to what I asked. More like an automated reply.sageridder wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 10:20 pmI asked customer service and they had to ask the manufacture and want an email so there's that route to find out. I'm lost on all this new shit. For the last 20 years I've become a Luddite on such things. Maybe I could charge the power pack using my PC when I am using it. hmmm.

Re: Heated waistcoat
Yep mostly are. My point was that at least if you buy from a brand like Regatta, they are likely to have proper product testing and standards etc. On the flip side the Chinese ones still could be made safe and well. Its a gamble though. The Aspie Toker wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 10:24 pmI think you'll find they are all Asian made.wutang wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 10:21 pmIf you're going to buy one then avoid the ones on amazon sold by Chinese sellers. Re: Heated waistcoat
MMM knowing your luck stay away from any form of powerThe Aspie Toker wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 10:14 pmThanks, mate. Since I found out about these waistcoats, I've been looking at loads. Rarely will you see one that also shows the power supply. One in particular looked like it held 6 x HP2 batteries - which as you know, would become expensive to use.sageridder wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 10:04 pmyeah the banks are storage you plug it in and charge it then put it in coat. Really just a big rechargeable battery. problem is they don't say what type usb plug the coat uses. The Aspie Toker wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 9:44 pm
Do you know how these ones get charged up? It contains a 50% Lithium-ion, 50% Aluminium battery. To me, it looks like I need something plugged into the mains to charge up the battery.
I am guessing that you would use a phone charger to charge up that power pack - but like you said, it doesn't say what typo of USB that should be used.
Also, I hear that phones have exploded because of phone chargers. I wonder if the same thing would happen if you used one to charge up the power pack.
