Re: Thanks
Nice one Seymore. I've saved a fortune on postage the last year so it's all good on this, but thanks for the offer.seymore_budz wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 3:15 pmSetup a gofundme or something and I'll chip in.Keeno wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 12:29 pmIve paid for the thanks button to return. It's not future proof, but after speaking with admin and tech the bulk of the updates to core software are a ways off as there is a lot of data/sections being done first. It will work with the first updates and changes, I know it's missed so have paid for it out of my pocket. The thanks button certainly isn't the be answer to inactivity and I know online communities are suffering everywhere. It's up to the community to fix the community.
What we have at GR420 is a rare thing, people who did and are willing to go out of their way to give the community what it wants, even if that costs or takes more time than not doing so, and more importantly keep it here, even if it's not as busy as it could be. Whether you like certain people aspects, or don't, It's ultimately a community, and believe me when I say that is what previous and current admin want this place to be. If it's not used as a community then we can't grumble when certain community aspects are put 2nd to longevity (unless some numpty is going to pay for them , mrs k is going to have a fit).
Takes 30 seconds to make someone feel like their post/diary is at the very least appreciated to post something as a reply, the lack of this is what has hurt the place over time, nothing else. I hope we would all want that to be able to do that for a fellow grower, so let's all start to think about the longevity of the community side of the site, as that is the one aspect only us members have control over.

Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

Re: Thanks
Nice one mate. I reckon that's what these places will become which is no bad thing, pop in pop out. To be honest I know I'm much better in the head now I'm not glued to the monitor as much, suns out, people should be out enjoying it.seymore_budz wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 11:47 amNo problem K. Ive spoken to Lucy about looking at the the members to run some things for themselves if they want to. Be similar to mods I suppose, but just based around the community itself as time will now be going into other aspects of the place.

Re: Thanks
Family over everything mate. Not worth it if it's adding stress to your life. You've put nearly a decade into this place so I know it's close to your heart.
I watched this documentary on monks. They build these awesome sand structures over months then are ordered to destroy them at a drop of a hat. It teaches them not to become too attached.
I struggle to bin a clone I don't need because I rooted it

Re: Thanks
You know it mate. Easily done when there is personal attachments and good people that you call friends. The downside to running these places is you see the other side, getting done over the end of last year yet again was the final straw. Now I get to just use the place and can give poor @Lucy & @MommaB a hard time when I don't like the way things are going like an everyday userseymore_budz wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 11:55 amFamily over everything mate.
