
One thing I find with some modern strains is that there is a low ceiling and short duration, even tho the effect may be strong. If you have strains like this then a variety is important, so you can have a little bit of each and not get bored of them. I find sativas such as haze or thai tend to have the high ceiling and also seem to improve potency with age, these are great for the all day smoke! Then on the evening move on to the heavy couch lock types.
When I'm doing a smoke report I usually mention the terps, frost production, the potency and the density/bud quality/appearence, but also sometimes talk about the growth/size/yield of the plant.
