I just slam them on water for 2 weeks growing in coco and lets plants yellow up nicely, makes for a nice smoke. I can`t see point adding chemicals to get rid of chemicals myself when tap water does same jobby.
Out of interest what chemicasls are in ripen @seymore_budz ? I`m thinking crazy high P & K numbers, prolly wrong like Cheers bud

Re: Flushing
The flushing agents are normally just a chelating agent with wetting agent. The wetter helps remove the salt from the media and the chelating agent drags salt through the media. They more about removing food from media than the plants but they 100% work faster than water. Start flushing two plants side by side two weeks before you harvest and use a flush on one. You will see a big difference in the rate of yellowing. Flushing agents are good for corrections but not for finishing unless you trying to kill them quick2-Scoops wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 11:21 amI just slam them on water for 2 weeks growing in coco and lets plants yellow up nicely, makes for a nice smoke. The ripen isn't really crazy high but just follows on from their three part at full strength. It's really just a single part feed with no N.
Grow = 3-1-6
Bloom = 0-5-4
Micro = 5-0-1
Ripen = 0-6-5
My guess is it stresses the plant enough for it to start producing ethylene without dropping everything so the plant can still gobble up the PK. Seems to work well for me.

Re: Flushing
Yes the yellow leaved plants that usually means plants used all its reserves up from its leaves. Not only that i find if plants/buds/leaves are gonna get a sexy red look to them, then doing this i find helps bring that colouring out a bit more.Ash wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 12:01 pmYou prefer the smoke of the faded plants then fair enough. Re: Flushing
That's an interesting link Ash, I'm not sure how confident I am that a nute company finds that you should keep on feeding nutes but that may just be my cynicism...

Re: Flushing
I mean I'm convinced it's more about the ripening than anything else. I'd love to do a full post with my full brain dump on the subject. Maybe I will find the time soon :) then you can all tear me a new arsehole breaking my waffle down .

Re: Flushing
I don’t get people starving their plants for two weeks at the time when they’re putting on most of their weight. Ideally you’ll know how to not overfeed them at all and perfectly taper your feed off for that strain. But, none of us know for sure. Hopefully in the coming years we’ll start getting real data and whatnot.
