With out atleast a decent grasp of how to ID microbes with a microscope, you really are guessing when culturing
Oh I'll get to all that eventually

I have my eye on a microscope which will be another lovely little rabbit hole. I did read somewhere that anaerobic works ok but it is best worked alongside aerobic teas too. A mix of both is sussposed to give the best balance, I can't remember the source of info though.

Have you thought of making some leafmould? It's not too late to do as there are still plenty of dead leaves on the ground.
Another rabbit hole FFS @The Aspie Toker

It all comes at once!

That is something I have not looked into.

How would you do that? Same sort of way as a FPJ?

:thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:
Just gather up leaves and put them into a bag. Make sure the leaves are damp and a few holes in the bag. Tie it up and leave it.

You can mow the leaves if you wish as that will aid breakdown and the added grass cutting give extra nitrates.

I have a couple of bins full of leaves atm. One bin is feeding worms with mainly leaves.

Use a variety of leaves as different leaves break down at different speeds as well as having different levels of lignin, nitrogen, and calcium.

Oh and I did wear a mask this time @GMO I dare not open the door until tomorrow now

....it's all watered in anyway so should all be good as long as I haven't got any nasties in there.

I forgot to save some for a compost tea though. Although GMO will be happy about that

Thanks for coming :-)

I have been researching about fungi a little more after hearing about the rhizophagy on a podcast, which are basically arbiscular michorzae, unless I am mistaken?

I have been looking at pictures online that are similar to mine above.

When dealing with microbes, am I not right in thinking Lactobacilli are exceptionally good at defeating other microbes? Like if you gathered a the microbes up for a scrap, Lactobacillus Bacteria would be the winner? Could you not just use that to break down stuff instead of risking dangerous bacteria being cultured by accident?
