Led does it cause purple stems, i think so...

Been growing this Supa Nova indoors for the last year, great smoke but a bitch of a plant to grow never seems happy and always chasing purple stems no matter what i try. Moved the last plant outside to the poly to become a mother. Holy Moly the purple is all still in the old growth but all the new is pukka green have swatch at the pics...

That won't be due to the LED but more due to the improved environment. I wouldn't stress too much it's just one of those things. Like you said the plants still do fine.

Can't see how the light hasn't made a difference, the feed is exactly the same, they no longer have constant regulated temps and the temps vary in the poly from 8c at night to 42c some times during the day, aint stressing about the plant just wish i hadn't been chasing purple stems the last year inside the tents..

IMO Your light was too bright/close &/or feed was off. I used to get this alot when I phased over to LED. Setting the right brightness/distance & feed is key to resolving this issue, I only get this now if I've messed up a feed.

hi i reckon its nothing to do with light or defs its purely a genetic trait which is common on indicas and a regular sight on hybrids with afghani heritage,ive a couple one for 8 yrs!peace

What a beast!! See strange that it’s now all green so it can’t be genetics can it? as would still be purple still outside.. and the feed and that same only thing is environment but can’t be because cold as cold creates purple from my exsperience anyway.. defo strange one raw

here`s my 10 bobs worth i to suffer under led with red stem`s during veg,heres what i take from my exp between hid + led....

i find that under hid the plants are getting more warmer air pushing around the root / pot well they do in my chamber,i see it with the led i get a much slower star off the blocks than hid to !! it usually takes me a week to get things moving proper under hid from pot up clone,than with led it takes a while longer to get that root growing hence the plant in general / roots aint warm enough,with the led when the roots do get established ....if not overwatered easily done with led then the plants take off nicely...so all in all the redness i get is purely temps at the roots + i stand on that. cold rootzone slow nute uptake purple stems /cold/overwater + cold roots / underfed or unable to take the nutes up because cold roots,is what im reading anyway mine were all red in veg none are now as the pots are rootbound + clearing the pots daily.
