Dehumidifier recomendation

Post by Tictok »

Hey all

I'm flowering right now in a 2 x 4 and while I do have a load of airflow with two fans and the AC Infinity is on full whack, I'm still hitting 70+RH which is jumping to around 84 at night.

I'm 5 weeks in since flip and worried about the humidity.

I've got a cheap £15 dehumidifier that is collecting water but is nowhere near powerful enough.

Could anyone recommend a decent dehumidifier? Cannot be too big but needs to have more balls than the £15 cheapo one!

Any help or someone telling me 85RH is ok with a ton of airflow would be much appreciated.

Thanks peeps.

Them little dehumidifiers are a load of shite mate. I've got a meaco 12L low energy I picked up secondhand that works well if you can handle the noise, lot's of rubber matting helps with the vibratio. It has a decent size tank too but you can fit a tube in the back so it can drain elewhere. @Marcus has a pretty good one irc.
What's the temp like when the humidity is up high like that?
Might be an idea to up the temps a bit if you can and move the air as much as possible if you can't drop the humidity any other way. How much foliage is in there?
Taking some leafs off could help a bit if you're into it

I've got one of these, but a 12L version. https://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/dc ... humidifier

I'm linking the 18L because I should have got that one, but the 12L is good if I remember to empty it every morning and night.

They've doubled in price since I got mine some years back. But it's never missed a beat. Gets warm though, I don;t like it in the tent.

I drop the RH in the room the tent is in, not the tent. I pull air in from the room and vent into it too.

No real issues with budrot. I've had it once indoors, it's easy to spot though and can be sorted.
I was running an automated flood and drain in clay balls and under LEDs when I got it, took my eye off the ball and a plant got sick cause I was using some fucking snake oil ferts too. My own fault really. Being a lazy shit in all fairness.

Thanks Nom, I'll look into those. Lowest temps hit 19c (loft grow) so I guess thats when the RH is highest, I'll add a tube heater in there also to keep temps up.

There's a fair bit of foliage.....

But I've started to defoliate a bit each day. Under the canopy there's a fair bit of space and I have an oscillating fan above canopy and a fixed fan below canopy, everything is dancing.

Nice one Marcus (as always dude). I'll try and pick up the 12l one as I think that should be plenty, second hand is all I can afford right now. That plus some extra heat should hopefully be fine.

Many thanks both :thanks:

Is the tent just pulling air in from the loft then?

Do you have a way of pulling it from one of the rooms/airing cubby on the lower floor???

Might keep the temps up and the RH down. ???

I'm going to need one soon enough.

I looked everywhere a few mo the back, wish and ebay are all the cheapest places. But that place Marcus said to go they have some more quality ones there.

Sounds a good idea sucking air in from your rooms instead, more co2 that way too.

Not quite, but almost! There is a passive intake that draws in from the loft, but I've also set up a 4inch fan with some ducting that draws air from the room below and blows it into the passive intake. I tried turning it off once and the humidity went higher. It's in a bloody awkward place so I could probably get drawing in better.

Did a defoliation and the humidity in the loft actually seems fine, the 60x60 veg tent has passive intake and I need a humidifier in there to get the humidity above 55.
