The one you have is right nice bit of kit and so long as your not running big extractors theirs shouldn`t be a humming noise if its the mk2 type smart one, so even better. But as said above for zero hum you need a variac

Problem with the new mk2 smscom climate controllers is the software goes quite a lot in them so they stop workimng or start to pulse high/low/high/low/and so on. If they do that smscom wioll fix them free but if bought within 12months shop will replace where they were bought or should do
