I am finally starting a construction diary for my new DIY growth chamber.
For the past 5 years I have been using an old small unit that I built out of plastic shelving units and old T12 and CFL lamps. I salvaged most of the items needed to build this first unit. It even has an old dryer blower motor for the forced air supply :) I have been using it to start seeds of any kind. Garden vegetables, culinary herbs, edible flowers, and of course... our belived cannabis. I like to use the chamber to root cuttings, flip clones to sex mothers, and harvest pollen from male clones for use in selective breeding!!!
But alas, it is finally time to upgrade to a bigger better system with a new metal shelf, higher energy efficient lighting, automatic watering, and proper climate control.
Made some progress on chamber 2.0 first shelf prototype last night. Check it out! Installed some LED panels vertically to supply lower canopy photon penetration and also a fluorescent T5 6-bulb lamp for top down light. Currently the illuminance is
