Building a small grow cupboard a buddy
Howdy growroom.
I have finally convinced my best friend to grow his own and get away from the overpriced shit on the street. He is limited on space and a little worried about being busted but i have explained the three no's to him, NO SMELL, NO SELL, NO TELL.
Unfortunately he doesnt have room for a tent but has an old wardrobe that we're going to convert. Its fairly small at W75cm x D45cm xH118cm
Thought I'd start a post here to share with you guys n gals and hopefully get some advice in return.
Step 1 strip it out and paint...
This might be a slow process, the jammy Fairy is off to silverstone for the F1 so will have to wait until he is back before we start. Stealth is key but budget is somewhat restricted. so L.E.D. and e.c. fan, was thinking about the spider farmer or mars hydro. Anyone recomend a light for the drobe?
Thanks for checking in

100 x 15cm / 74 watts / 384 LEDs / canopy PPFD 218 @ 16* / canopy PPFD 817 @ 6" / €94.99
Probably the best priced light for your footprint. 817 PPFD should be ok for flowering a coupe plants in there, if you think not then a double QB board or Mars SP3000 will do the trick dimmed.
Also..... Noctua i think there called, they make *super silent* high-end PC fans infamous for there horrible beige colour, no good for smell but great circulation or input in a lil space like that, low power, high air flow & very quiet but lil expensive.
Hope this helps. Peace out.

Re: Building a small grow cupboard a buddy
Opps forgot to type, if you can remove the shelfs and get 100cm that spider farmer light will fit.
Else
Maybe a double QB like the invisible sun ISH265 E-line / 70 x 30cm / 240 watts / Dimmable / £234.95
Think you'll be hard pushed to better those lights/prices.
Hopefully helps. Cheers

Re: Building a small grow cupboard a buddy
I too grow in a similar small space which is 110cm x 55cm and i do alright, i grow two plants and generally get around 13oz, my best was 18oz, but i use a 250 and 400hps in their. But yes point being the invisible sun light 420mfuk posted above is one I've been pondering over for a while now and that should do ya a grand jobby in that space for 1 or 2 small plants. Anyhow best of with this and tell your mate not to worry about the oinkers, they make me laugh all bollox they spout about law breaking and when they`ve done you'll prolly get a kick in bollox and sent on your way. Don't sweat it till it happens and even then growing in that box is hardly worth sweating over even if it did happen tell your mate.

@420mFuk cheers bud. I'll show him and see what he says. I have told him if he's going to choose a piece of equipment to splurge on it should be the light. Trying to get him to sign up here but hes a lil nervous about posting online, bless him. I'll talk him round eventually.
@2-Scoops i totally agree. Bloody rozzers, if they wanna waste their time banging my door in for a single plant scrog, more power to them i'll take a slap on the wrist and pop new beans when they leave. Themes Valley police dont even confiscate your equipment anymore. Just cut your tent and ducting so you can't use them again.
Showed my mate the sentencing guidelines, fine and community order is well worth it. Think that was what convinced him in the end.

Re: Building a small grow cupboard a buddy
I spent the first half of my growing career growing in a wardrobe, 400w hps and 5” extraction fan, it used to make a right noise but I could grow enough weed to keep myself from buying on the streets and only cost £10 a week to run at the time.
You’ll want to silicon all around the edges to seal it up then Mylar the inside, those little nail on draught excluder strips work well around the door to block light leaks

Re: Building a small grow cupboard a buddy
I dont think its a good idea mylar`ing small grow areas like cupboards and is much better white painting, reason being that plastic mylar send rh even higher unlike if just left wood it doesn`t go so sky high, still runs high alot at times but not so much as if it was plastered with mylar.Vador wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 10:35 amI spent the first half of my growing career growing in a wardrobe, 400w hps and 5” extraction fan, it used to make a right noise but I could grow enough weed to keep myself from buying on the streets and only cost £10 a week to run at the time.

Re: Building a small grow cupboard a buddy
I told him to grab some matte white bathroom paint. The RH in my chest of draws has pretty much doubled since adding the mylar.

Re: Building a small grow cupboard a buddy
I can’t say I noticed any difference tbh but with a 400w hps in a wardrobe high rh was never a problem lol
